They grow up so fast

Daddy has left us….okay let me clarify; daddy has gone out of town for work.  Sad news for us as we all three rely on daddy for a great deal, both around the house and emotionally.  I find it interesting that old sayings seem to sometimes be correct and not just stupid sayings and people can use to their advantage when they are trying to make a point in conversation. Point being “you don’t know what you have got until it is gone” ok now granted I am sure that whoever came up with the quote meant that the thing that you were going to miss was going to be gone for longer than 2 ½ days, but it is still relevant no matter how long the item you are missing is gone,right?.?.?
Now that dad is back everything is back to “normal” and the house is functioning regularly so that is a huge relief…..
With all the excitement of daddy leaving and coming home there was another big change that took place over the last week and a half that added a bit of excitement to the Whelpley house.  Brodie got a new bed, he transitioned from the toddler bed to a full size bed and the difference is HUGE!!! His crib is a convertible crib that transitions as the child gets older it has worked out great for us as all we had to do was buy the rails for the full size bed and the mattress (ahhem, thanks for the mattress grandma).  Brodie loves his new bed and has shown it to almost every person who has come into the house since he and daddy put it together, which by the way had to been done twice as the rails were put on incorrectly during the first try at 9pm the night we got the mattress.
None the less Brodie had a blast helping daddy put the bed together.  He has yet to fall out of the new bed but when and if he does everyone will know if because the drop from the top of the mattress to the floor is about 12feet high, poor guy will knock himself silly from the fall.  He is funny about sleeping now also, he wants to be in nothing but his skivvies or as Brodie pronounces it his “scibbies”, so here is this 3yr, 27lb little boy in bed in his boxer briefs and I have to tell you it truly is the cutest thing I have ever seen.
Until next time….
